Jan-Niclas Stoecklin earns 2nd Win, Donald Lutz starts hitting

Posted on December 7, 2015 by philipp

The Australian Baseball League continued this past weekend. The Canberra Cavalry won another series, this time against the Perth Heat and solidified first place in the standings with a 19-9 record. The Brisbane Bandits follow in second place after winning three of four against the Melbourne Aces. Germany’s Donald Lutz went 7-for-18 with two runs scored and four RBI, as he rebounded from a 1-for-11 debut last week.

Fellow German Jan-Niclas Stoecklin earned his second win for the Sydney Blue Sox on Sunday, as he tossed six innings, while allowing four hits, three runs and three walks. He is now 2-1 with an ERA of 3.25 in his first season in the ABL. It was the lone win for the Blue Sox this weekend, as they lost four of a five-game set against the Adelaide Bite. Loek van Mil pitched twice for Adelaide in the series, receiving two saves in 1 2/3 innings.
