After adding Rene Herlitzius from the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg, the HSV Stealers are adding another player from the southern division of the German Baseball-Bundesliga to the 2011 roster. The Czech catcher Jakub Vojak is coming from the Saarlouis Hornets to the north. He was ranked fourth in the league with an On-Base-Plus-Slugging-Percentage (OPS) of 1.119. Overall he was batting .357 (OBP .476/SLG .643) with five homeruns, 30 runs and 30 RBI in 28 games – all behind the plate. The 26-year-old came to Germany from the Czech Extraleague club Skokani Olomouc last winter. He is also a member of the Czech National Team and played for them at the European Championship and the Intercontinental Cup.
