The Hamburg Stealers have signed another member of the Claesson family. 27-year-old right-hander Jakob Claesson follows the footsteps of his brother Joakim Claesson and joins the northern Baseball-Bundesliga team. He leaves the Stockholm Monarchs after going 10-3 with an ERA of 2.20 in 90 innings last season in the Swedish Elitserien. He is the second new pitcher for the club of head coach Jens Hawlitzky besides Wolfgang Reitter’s return from Regensburg. Additionally the contracts with Brett Rosen and Nathan Poff got extended, while Iwan Galkin and Parsa Bergengruen have left the Stealers to return to the Berlin Sluggers.
