Alex LIDDI (2-4) started the scoring with a solo-homerun in the second. They added four more runs in the same period on their way to an easy victory. The South African offense got many chances with runners in scoring position, but failed to bring them home.
Max DI BIASE had four hits in five at-bats with three RBI. Lorenzo AVAGNINA was three for four with two runs scored and two RBI. Both missed the cycle by a homerun. Gino LOLLIO got two hits.
Ashley SCOTT had three hits for South Africa.
Orlando OBERTO (W 1-0) threw six scoreless innings in his start. He gave up six hits and two walks, striking out three. Cody CILLO (2 IP, 3 H, 4 SO) and Alessandro MAESTRI (1 IP, 1 SO) finished the game.
Matthew DANCER (L 0-1) allowed 13 hits, eight runs and two base on balls in six innings.
