Rhibo La Loggia opened the Italian Softball Series with two wins over Bussolengo last weekend and are just one victory away from the title. Amanda Fama hit a pair of home runs, scored three times and drove in four to lead La Loggia to a 10-3 win in game one. Lucia Carlucci picked up three RBI.
While the first match was concluded after five innings, the second needed two extra frames. La Loggia once again prevailed – this time 2-1 over Bussolengo. Sara Avanzi scored the winning run on a sac bunt in the bottom of the ninth. Both teams had scored once in the sixth. Otherwise Lindsey Beisser and Kimberly Bruins were in complete control.
