The Italian Softball League starts its new season on April 5th with 12 teams split into two divisions of six teams apiece. Group A consists of La Loggia, Nuoro, Bollate, Legnano, Caronno and Staranzano (both new to the ISL). In Group B Caserta, Fermana, Bussolengo, Forli, Parma and Collecchio battle for runs during the regular season. The top two of each division will qualify for the semi-finals, which are scheduled to start on August 2 or 3. The Italian Cup will be played in between the regular season and the playoffs from June 28 and July 20. After the Softball World Championship in the Netherlands and the European Cups in August, the Italian Softball Series will crown the champion between September 13 and 21.
