Danesi Nettuno has a 2-0 lead after the first two games of the Italian Baseball Series. After edging out T&A San Marino in extra innings on Friday evening, they also prevailed 24 hours later. They won 10-3 – again on the road – and now will try to close out the best-of-seven series at home next weekend.
There was little drama in the second game, as Nettuno took a 3-0 lead after two innings, led 4-2 after four and added six more runs until the end. San Marino also was able to put something on to the scoreboard in the third and ninth.
Mirco Caradonna and Ennio Retrosi did the most damage for Danesi, combining for six hits and six RBI. Paolino Ambrosino scored four times. Jairo Ramos and Wuilliuans Vasquez had three hits apiece for the Titans.
Carlos Richetti (W) issued seven hits, two runs and two walks in seven solid innings for the win. Carlos Pezzullo came in and closed it out, pitching out of trouble in the ninth. Ivan Granados (L) was charged with the loss, allowing eight hits, five runs and two bb in 5 2/3 innings.
