The Italian Baseball Series is tied after two games. On Friday evening ASD Rimini edged out Unipol Bologna 6-5 in 11 innings. The Pirates tied the game with four runs in the top of the ninth to force extra innings and won it on Leonardo Zileri’s solo home run with two outs in the 11th. His RBI single in the ninth already had capped the game-tying rally. Claudio Liverziani homered for Bologna.
On Saturday Fortitudo held on to their lead and celebrated a 7-3 victory to even out the best-of-seven series. Four runs in the first decided the outcome early. Marco Sabbatani and Alessandro Vaglio combined for five RBI. Mario Chiarini drove in two for Rimini. Riccardo De Santis pitched seven innings for the win.
