All six runs for the Pirates were scored in the third; two after a triple by Stefano Desimoni and two after a single by Riccardo Bertagnon. Ricardo Hernandez struck out seven in five-plus innings for the win. Paul Estrada got charged with six runs (5 ER) on eight hits and two base on balls in six innings to take the loss.
T&A San Marino downed Tommasin Padua 11-1. Eight combined runs in the seventh and eighth turned a 3-1 lead into a mercy-rule shortened victory. Francesco Imperiali and Gabriele Ermini had four hits apiece, hit two home runs, scored four runs and drove in eighth overall. Yoimer Camacho picked up the win with seven strong innings. Raul Ruiz got charged with the loss.
Matt Zielinski and Ryan Searle combined to pitched seven scoreless three-hit innings to lead Unipol Bologna to an 11-0 shutout against Novara. Ronny Cedeno paced the Fortitudo offense with four hits, three runs and five RBI. Jonnathan Aristil took the loss, surrendering seven hits, seven runs and four base on balls in 3 1/3 frames.
