T&A San Marino and Telemarket Rimini are each one win away to meet in the Italian Baseball Series. On Saturday they both won also their second games of the best-of-five semi-finals and lead 2-0.
San Marino defeated Unipol Bologna 15-8 in a slugfest. Seven runs in the second and six in the fifth blew things wide open. Bologna countered with seven runs in the ninth, but it was too little, too late. Jairo Ramos and Mattia Reginato hit home runs for the Titans, Claudio Liverziani connected for Bologna. Lorenzo Avagnina and Giovanni Pantaleoni scored three runs each. Ramos and Wuillians Vasquez combined for six RBI. Tiago Da Silva threw six scoreless two-hit, two-walk innings. Carlos Richetti got charged with the loss.
In the second game Rimini scored two runs on a two-run single by Jack Santora in the top of the ninth to beat Nettuno 9-7. Santora drove in five in total. Alexander Romero homered for the Pirates. Ben Harrison they had three hits and two RBI. Tommaso Cherubini got the win with three scoreless innings of relief. Valerio Simone got charged with the loss.
