Italian Baseball League: Rimini edges out San Marino in 11 Innings in Game one

Rimini has won game one of the Italian Baseball Series. The Pirates scored three runs in the top of the 11th inning to edge out defending champion T&A San Marino 4-1, taking a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series. Game two follows on Saturday.

After both teams scored once in the second neither team scored again until the 11th. James Buccheri broke up the tie with a RBI single. Leonardo Zileri followed with a two-run double to seal the deal for Rimini.

Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez earned the win with 5 2/3 innings of scoreless three-hit, one-walk relief. Darwin Cubilan took the loss. Starters Yorman Bazardo and Jim Magrane had given up one run in 5 1/3 respective seven innings.
