Italian Baseball League: Rimini dismantles San Marino

The Italian Baseball League continued on Thursday with games of the European Cup participants. Telemarket Rimini dismantled T&A San Marino 21-8 in eight innings. The Pirates scored 15 runs in the last two frames to turn the game into a blowout. Mario Chiarini went 4-for-6 with a home run, four runs and five RBI. Jack Santora and Ramon Castro also collected four hits apiece. Wuilliuans Vasquez, Mattia Reginato and Simone Albanese went deep for San Marino. Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez earned the win, allowing five unearned runs in 3 1/3 innings of relief. Tiago Da Silva got charged with the loss.

Unipol Bologna meanwhile dispatched the Godo Knights 14-4 in nine innings. Four runs in the third and six in the sixth put the contest into the books. Alessandro Vaglio homered twice and drove in four to lead the way. Chris Aguila and Daniele Malengo also cleared the fence. Juan Carlos Infante scored three times. Lino Zappone and Danilo Sanchez combined for four RBI for Godo. Bologna used six pitchers on the mound in preparation for the European Cup. Raul Rivero got the win with two scoreless innings. Alessandro Casalini took the loss.
