In the Italian Baseball League three games were played on Friday. After Unipol Bologna clinched their postseason berth with a win on Thursday they completed a sweep over T&A San Marino one day later. Fortitudo erased an early 0-8 deficit and won a slugfest 12-11 with a walk-off RBI single by Marco Sabbatani in the bottom of the tenth. Joe Mazzuca had highlighted a pair of four-run rallies in the first two frames for San Marino with a bases clearing triple. Lorenzo Avagnina and Jairo Ramos went deep. Bologna had tied the game with three runs in the eighth, forcing extra innings.
Meanwhile Rimini defeated Nettuno 5-1 thanks to a combined four-hitter of Roberto Corradini and Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez. Ramon Castro hit a solo home run and scored twice. Riccardo Bertagnon and Giuseppe Spinelli had two RBI apiece. Andrea Pizziconi got charged with the loss. Parma won a nail-biter 1-0 in Novara. Jose Sanchez struck out ten in 7 1/3 scoreless five-hit innings. Sebastiano Poma scored the lone run of the night on a wild pitch in the second. Angel Calero took the loss, conceding four hits, a run and three walks in six frames. He had eight strikeouts.
