Two runs in the second and four more in the fifth and the sixth gave Bologna a 6-0 lead before Nettuno got on the board in the seventh. Matthew Zielinski picked up his ninth win of the season with six scoreless one-hit innings. Alessandro Vaglio collected three hits.
Parma scored four runs in the top of the fifth to decide the outcome in a 5-1 victory over Rimini. Leonardo Zileri had a big two-run double during the big rally. Roman Rodriguez and Jose Gonzalez combined to keep the reigning champion to a single run. Ricardo Hernandez got charged with the loss.
Tommasin Padua downed Novara 12-3 in the third matchup of the day. Padua scored five runs in the sixth and four in the eighth to blow the score wide open. Four players scored twice. Jordi Pizzorni drove in two. Angel Calero pitched seven solid innings for the win. Enrico Varin got charged with the loss.
