For the first time this season three games were scheduled for Friday evening in the Italian Baseball League. Unipol Bologna, Nettuno and T&A San Marino celebrated wins.
Bologna prevailed 2-1 against Parma. Fortitudo used a RBI single by Alessandro Vaglio in the first and a sac fly by Claudio Liverziani in the fifth to take the lead. Parma was only able to counter with a RBI groundout by Matteo Ugolotti in the eighth. Raul Rivero struck out seven in seven five-hit innings for the win. Jose Sanchez was charged with the loss.
Nettuno blew a 5-0 lead against Novara, but still celebrated a 7-6 win. A solo home run by Ben Harrisson and a RBI single by Vinicio Sparanga plated the tying and go-ahead runs in the sixth. Novara had taken the lead with a six-run fifth. A steal of home by Raffaele Modoro highlighted the big rally. Giuseppe Mazzanti drove in three for Nettuno.
T&A San Marino meanwhile shut out the Godo Knights 9-0 on the road. The Titans quickly had a 4-0 lead after three frames and blew the game wide open with a five-run seventh. Jim Magrane, Chris Cooper and Darwin Cubilan combined for a three-hitter. Joe Mazzuca hit his third home run of the season. He and Mattia Reginato had six of the nine RBI. Daniele Del Bianco took the loss.
