After a winter with a couple of releases, another European player has signed with a MLB organization. 19-year-old Anzio native Leonardo Colagrossi has signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a member of the Italian Baseball Academy in Tirrenia and played for Angel Service Nettuno 2 in the Italian Baseball League last year. He batted .312/.390/.419 with a home run, seven doubles, eight runs and 16 RBI in 27 games (26 starts) during the regular season in 2015. He made his debut in the IBL in 2013.
