IBL Semis: Zileri scores lone Run in Rimini Shutout over former Club

Posted on July 5, 2014 by philipp

Leonardo Zileri scored the lone run in Rimini’s 1-0 nail-biter over his former club Parma on Friday evening in the semi-finals of the Italian Baseball League. The center fielder led off the top of the eighth with a walk, moved to second on a groundout and scored the winning run on Alexander Romero’s single to left. Otherwise both offenses couldn’t do much. Michael Ekstrom and Jose Escalona kept Parma to three hits and three walks in nine scoreless innings. Jesus Yepez took the loss despite issuing just two hits, a run and six base on balls in 7 2/3 frames.
