After PARMA had taken the lead with a five-run fifth, BOLOGNA answered with a six-run rally in the eighth to win the rubber match of the series 12-7 on Saturday evening. The two teams had split the first two matches in the Italian Baseball League playoffs on Wednesday and Friday. Eddy Garabito went three-for-three with two walks, two homeruns, three runs scored and three RBI. Giovanni Pantaleoni scored three times for FORTITUDO. Orlando Munoz drove in two for CARIPARMA. Starting pitchers Marco Grifantini (PAR) and Yulman Ribeiro (BOL) lasted just four-plus innings on the mound, getting no-decisions. Fabio Milano picked up the win, Brian Scarcella took the loss.

RIMINI scored three runs in the first and used a strong performance by starter Chris Di Roma to beat SAN MARINO 3-1 on Saturday to conclude the first week of the semi-final round robin in the Italian Baseball League. A RBI groundout by Mario Chiarini and RBI singles by Eddie Rios and Lorenzo Avagnina put the PIRATES ahead in the opening frame. T&A avoided the shutout due to a RBI double by Seth La Fera in the eighth. Di Roma allowed just one unearned run on five hits and two walks in 7 2/3 innings for the win. Fernando Gutierrez closed it out for the save. Tiago Da Silva went the distance for SAN MARINO, issuing seven hits, three runs and three bb in eight innings. He threw 75 of his 106 pitches for strikes.
