Huskies Rouen welcomes new faces for 2008

The 2007 French champion Huskies Rouen announced recently signing of two new players for next year. The will welcome pitcher Jean Baptiste COUTON and catcher Laurent AOUTIN. Both played for teams in the second division in France.

COUTON is 23 years old and was with the Montigny Cougars since 2000. He had an ERA of 2.52 in his four wins during the regular season. He struck out 27 in 25 innings pitched. In 2006 he had 60 strikeouts in 59 innings and a 5.03 ERA.

The 29-year-old AOUTIN finished with a batting average of .344 with the Marlins Compiegne this year. He slugged two homeruns, a triple and five doubles. He scored 25 runs and had 12 RBI. He was successful in nine of his ten stolen base attempts.

Additionally to the new faces on the roster, the club also announced that the Canadian shortstop Dany SCALABRINI would be back with the team. He joined the Huskies at the beginning of last season. He hit .408 with 13 doubles, 38 runs scored and 25 RBI in 26 games.
