The London Mets marked their first season in the British Baseball League with two upset victories over the Croydon Pirates to win the National League final and be crowned British National Champions.
In a gutsy display, London beat Croydon – the 2004 and 2005 Championsl – by two games to zero in the best-of-three series. A 7-2 victory in the first game on Saturday afternoon was followed by a 11-1 win on Sunday. London was 0-4 against Croydon in their first four meetings of the season.
