Houston Astros hold down ALB Orkas

The ASTROS defeated the ORKAS 3-1 on Thursday. They put runs on the board in the fifth, sixth and eighth frame to decide the outcome. The lone ALB score came in the ninth, when David Rivas reached home on a sac fly by Gabriel Montero. The left fielder now has 14 RBIs for the season. Besides these two, only Steffan Hoogewerff and Gerson Manzanillo had hits for the ORKAS in the game.

HOUSTON’s Jury Perez (W 2-2) allowed just two hits in six innings to pick up the win. He struck out four. Yulman Ribeiro (L 0-3) lowered his ERA to 2.57, but also took his third loss of the season. He gave up seven hits, two runs (1 ER) and a base on balls in six innings. Steven van Groningen conceded one hit, a run and three walks in 1 1/3 innings of relief. He also hit a batter and was replaced with the bases loaded in the eighth.
