Two games were played on Sunday at Pim Mulier Stadium at the 2018 Honkbalweek Haarlem. In the afternoon Chinese Taipei edged out the Netherlands with a 3-2 win. In the evening game Japan improved to 3-0 with a dominant 7-1 win over Cuba. Italy and Germany return to the competition on Monday with games against Cuba and Japan.

Chinese Taipei celebrated a 3-2 victory over the Netherlands in the afternoon game at the Honkbalweek on Sunday. Runs in the first, second and fourth were enough for the Asian team to pick up their first win. Four pitchers kept the Dutch team to seven hits in the game. Dudley Leonora drove in both runs for the Netherlands, one on a solo home run. Diegomar Markwell conceded five hits, three runs and two walks in seven innings to take the loss. Berry van Driel and Kevin Kelly pitched the last two innings.

Japan overpowered Cuba 7-1 in the evening game on Sunday, pounding out 14 hits in nine innings. Takashi Umino hit a two-run home run and drove in three runs overall. Kazuya Ojima struck out five in three strong innings to start the game. Five relievers closed out the victory. Yosvany Torres issued five hits, three runs and three walks in 3 2/3 innings to take the loss. Orlando Acebey scored the lone Cuban run in the third.
