Corendon Kinheim won also game two of the Holland Series and they are now only one victory away to clinch the title for the second straight year in a row. They needed four extra-innings to defeat Konica Minolta Pioniers 4-3.
It was Quincey BERNADUS who scored the decisive run through a sacrifice fly by Danny ROMBLEY in the thirteenth frame. To reach overtime, Kinheim had to rally for two runs in the ninth inning. They loaded the bases and forced in a run after a pitch hit Rene CREMER. One Batter later, Denny BELJAARDS advanced to home for the tying run through an error by first baseman De FLANEGIN.
Jourick BLANCO was responsible for the Pioniers-advantage with a two-run-homerun in the sixth. But they blew the lead.
Patrick BELJAARDS started for Corendon. He allowed five hits, three runs (2 ER) and one walk in seven innings. Richard ORMAN was the starter for Konica Minolta. He gave up six hits, three runs (2 ER) and five base on balls in 8 1/3 innings. Michiel VAN KAMPEN pitched the final 3 2/3 frames to earn the win. Dave DRAIJER got the loss.
They will meet again on Sunday in Kinheim.
