Corendon Kinheim swept Konica Minolta Pioniers in the Holland Series and won the Dutch championship for the second year in a row. They beat them 4-1 in game three on Sunday.
Kinheim hit fast and scored the first run in the first through a RBI-single by Vince ROOI. They added three more in the fourth and the game was over. Jeffrey VERBIJ reached home after an error by first baseman De FLANEGIN. Dirk VAN’T KLOOSTER followed with a two-run-single.
The Pioniers started a little rally in the fifth. But only Michael DUURSMA scored after a RBI-single by FLANEGIN.
Vaughan HARRIS (W 1-0) pitched seven strong innings. He allowed one run on seven hits and two walks. Roger KOPS (L 0-1) gave up eight hits, four runs (3 ER) and one base on balls in four frames.
Michiel VAN KAMPEN got his second save of the series. He also received the MVP-award for the finals. He pitched 5 2/3 innings in the three games, earned two saves and one win.
