2006 champion Corendon Kinheim defeated Konica Minolta Pioniers 7-4 in the first game of the Holland Series. They will resume the series on Saturday.
inheim started fast and scored four runs in the second and third frame. The Pioniers rallied after that and cut the deficit to one. But Corendon added some insurance and hold on for the win.
Tjerk SMEETS had three hits in five at-bats for Kinheim. Vince ROOI scored two runs and drove in two. Roel KOOLEN got two RBI.
Michael DUURSMA and Glenn ROMNEY had three hits each for Konica Minolta.
David BERGMAN (W 1-0) allowed nine hits, four runs and one walk in six-plus innings. Nelson SANTANDER (L 0-1) gave up two hits, three runs and two base on balls in just two innings. Michiel VAN KAMPEN pitched the ninth for the save.
