The German Baseball-Bundesliga club Heidenheim Heidekoepfe has signed the 25-year-old Californian Sean Begley for the upcoming season. The left-handed pitcher/outfielder is in possession of a British passport and therefore won’t occupy a foreign spot on the roster. He impressed former Heidekoepfe infielder Sam Whitehead during a tryout for Team Great Britain at the end of 2011 and established the contact to Germany. Begley attended Compton Community College and the Claflin University in South Carolina (NCAA Division II). He played in a semi-pro league in the last couple of years. The Heidekoepfe also added former captain Senad Sekic as first base/bench coach and prospect Johannes Krumm.
