German right-handed pitcher Harry Glynne is going to try out for a spot in an independent league according to local newspaper reports from Solingen. The tryouts will be in February. Therefore his current club, the Solingen Alligators, are not planning with him for the 2015 season, but will leave the door open just in case.
The 24-year-old had an 8-2 record with an ERA of 2.04 in 11 games during the regular season with the Solingen Alligators. He also impressed with strong outings in the European Cup in Hoofddorp, at the European Championship with the German National Team and during the playoffs in the Bundesliga. He was named Finals MVP, when Solingen edged out the Heidenheim Heideköpfe to claim their second German championship after 2006.
Two German players have played independent league ball before: right-handed pitchers Martin Dewald and Markus Solbach.
