After adding Zach Kim, Dominic Maric and Simon Mantz earlier this winter, the Haar Disciples have announced that they bring in Calvin Brutus and Gregor Piehler for the upcoming season in the German Baseball-Bundesliga.
Brutus is a 24-year-old right-handed pitcher from Hardee, Florida. He attended South Florida Community College before transferring to the Florida State University. He didn’t pitch for the NCAA Division I school.
Piehler is a 26-year-old outfielder, who played for the German second-division club Ingolstadt Schanzer, the former team of Disciples head coach Chris Dresel. He led the team in OPS last season, batting .330 (OBP .443/SLG .436) with seven extra base hits, 26 runs and 18 RBI in 31 games.
