Grosseto brings in former Major League RHP Marcos Carvajal

The Italian Baseball League club Montepaschi Grosseto still isn’t really sure if Abraham Nunez is coming or not, but they are going to have a former big leaguer on the roster no matter what. They have signed right-handed pitcher Marcos Carvajal, who has a career ERA of 5.21 in 42 games in the MLB for the Colorado Rockies (2005) and Florida Marlins (2007). The 26-year-old Venezuelan was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization as an amateur free agent in 2000 and later also played for teams of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Rockies, New York Mets and Marlins. After his affiliated career ended in 2008 he joined the independent league circuit. Carvajal had an ERA of 4.18 in the Minors.
