The new Grosseto Baseball franchise, which replaces the BBC Grosseto Orioles in the Italian Baseball League in 2012, held a press conference and introduced the technical staff for the upcoming season. New leaders Mario Mazzei, Angelo Magalotti and Aldo Codispoti revealed that former Major Leaguer Mike Marshall is taking over as manager of the club. He will be supported by new general manager Darren Harrison-Panis of the Carminucci Sports Group and General Director Pete Caliendo. Charles Del Santo and Lino Luciani will serve as pitching and bullpen coaches for the IBL1 team, while at the same time being responsible head coaches for the IBL2 team (Junior Grosseto). Regarding the roster, captain Luca Bischeri is returning. Yovany D’Amico, Andrea Sgnaolin and Junior Oberto also seem to return. A pitcher and a shortstop are expected to come from the United States, while a catcher is sought with a double passport.
