The 2011 season in the Swedish Elitserien will not start until May. A few days ago the Goteborg Hajarna, which have lost Joey Schwartz to Italy, announced that they have signed Brian Johnson and Evan Porter. They are scheduled to arrive on Easter Weekend, right in time to join the club for its Spring Training Camp in Sölvesborg.
Both were teammates at the University of Nebraska, when they reached the NCAA Division II College World Series in 2007. Porter was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009 and played 31 games for Williamsport in the NY-Penn League that summer. In 2010 he played for the Solingen Alligators in the German Baseball-Bundesliga.
Additionally Goteborg has added Kalle Knutsson, who pitched for Tranås last season. He actually has transferred to Sölvesborg, but will play for the Sharks thanks to an agreement between the two teams.
