Italian infielder Giovanni Pantaleoni has retired from his active playing career. The 36-year-old who made his Serie A debut in 1998 with Caserta has won seven titles in the Italian Baseball League. He last played for T&A San Marino with his last appearance being the European Champions Cup Final Series. In 764 career games in the IBL he batted .266. With Italy he played in 88 games including the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He will remain in baseball, as he has begun working for the International Baseball Federation (IBAF).
