Germany with Training Camp in Japan ahead of European Championship

The German Baseball National Team is going to Japan for a training camp prior to the European Championship in Bonn and Solingen, Germany. The team of manager Steve Janssen will travel to Uerschino City in the Saga region near Fukuoka from August 19 to September 1. The two-week camp, which is supported by the Saga Sports Commission, will feature a couple of exhibition games on site against local college and pro teams of the Industrial League.

Germany is facing defending champion Netherlands, Czech Republic, Sweden, Great Britain and Israel in Pool A of the preliminary round. Games of Germany will take place at 7pm in Bonn during the first round. Tickets for the European Championship are available through www.baseball-em.de. The tournament is played from September 7 to 15 at the ballparks of the Bonn Capitals and Solingen Alligators.
