Germany announces Roster, starts with training camp

The German Baseball and Softball Federation has announced the roster for the upcoming Olympic qualifier in Taiwan. Only a few of the players, who had been with the National Team in the past like Rodney GESSMANN (Minnesota Twins), Markus GIENGER (Buchbinder Legionaere), Michael OTTO (retired) and Jens HEYMER (retired) will not make the trip.

They are travelling to Tirrenia, Italy on Thursday February 28 to intensify their workouts. Germany stays there until March 3, before heading over to Taiwan. Their first game is on Friday March 7 against Australia.

Roster:
Pitchers: Martin ALMSTETTER (Buchbinder Legionaere), Benedikt ANTWI (Buchbinder Legionaere), Jens CORNELSEN (Solingen Alligators). Dirk FRIES (Cologne Cardinals), Mirko HEID (Bonn Capitals), Tim HENKENJOHANN (Bonn Capitals), Philipp HOFFSCHILD (Buchbinder Legionaere), Andre HUGHES (Solingen Alligators), Enorbel MARQUEZ-RAMIREZ (Solingen Alligators), Manuel MOELLER (Mainz Athletics), Markus WINKLER (Heidenheim Heidekoepfe)

    Are the photographs in the media guide in the public domain? We have bios for about half of these players at Baseball-Reference (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Category:German_National_Team_Players) but could use photos.
