German RHP Martin Dewald traded from River City to Kansas City

Europeans in the USA Comments Off on German RHP Martin Dewald traded from River City to Kansas City

The first and lone German player in the American independent league circuit, right-handed pitcher Martin Dewald, got traded from the River City Rascals (Frontier League) to the Kansas City T-Bones (American Association) on Friday. The two teams used the transaction to complete a trade from June 4, which sent Nick Farnsworth to the Rascals. Dewald already was on the roster for Friday’s game against Winnipeg. River City used the 25-year-old German national teamer solely as a reliever. In seven games he went 1-0 with an ERA of 5.40, striking out three in 3 1/3 innings, walking one.
