German right-handed pitcher Markus Solbach has been named to the Australian Baseball League All-Star Game. The 23-year-old is going to suit up for the World Team, which faces Team Australia on December 17 in Melbourne.
The pitcher of the Sydney Blue Sox has a strong start to the 2014/2015 season by going 4-0 with a save and an ERA of 2.62 in six games (5 starts). He has struck out 25 batters in 34 1/3 innings, while walking seven.
Former Major Leaguer Dae-Sung Koo, NPB players Makoto Aiuchi and Taishi Nakagawa as well as several Minor Leaguers from Single-A to Triple-A are accompanying him on the World Team roster. Steve Fish is managing the squad.
