Heidenheim Heidekoepfe – Untouchables Paderborn 9-12, 10-4
The Heidenheim Heidekoepfe and the Untouchables Paderborn split the first two games of their semi-finals series in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. In game one Bjoern Schonlau hit a late three-run homerun to lead Paderborn to a 12-9 win. Schonlau, Matt Martin and Julius Uelschen combined for 14 hits. In the second match Heidenheim scored nine runs in the bottom of the seventh in a 10-4 comeback victory. Aaron Hornostaj had four hits. Alex Lauterbach hit a grand slam to cap the big rally.
Solingen Alligators – Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg 1-5, 2-1
The second semi-finals series between the Solingen Alligators and the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg also ended with two winners. In game one Evan LeBlanc and Petr Cech homered to lead Regensburg to a 5-1 win over Andre Hughes and the Alligators. It was the first loss in the 15th start for the German lefty. Dustin Hughes hit a solo homerun for Solingen. In the second match Florian Goetze drove in the winning run with a single in the bottom of the ninth for a 2-1 walk-off win for the hosts. Earlier LeBlanc and Moritz Buttgereit had exchanged solo homeruns.
