The German Umpire Jens Waider, born in 1968, is appointed to work the Danesi Nettuno vs. UGF Bologna series in the Italian Baseball League this weekend.
Umpiring at the highest level in the German Baseball-Bundesliga since the 1990ies and in CEB competitions since 2000, Waider will be behind the plate in game two on Saturday afternoon. He also was an Umpire during the World Juniors Championship in 2004 and last year’s Baseball World Cup.
The contact was made through the Italian Umpire Silvano Filippi, who not only has a second home in Waider’s home town Regensburg, but who also has worked in the Baseball-Bundesliga. According to the report on FIBS.it Waider will be assigned to additional IBL games this year.
