The Mainz Athletics confirmed their favorite status in the German Baseball-Bundesliga by dominating games one and two of the best-of-five finals against the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg. In game one on Saturday about 900 in attendance witnessed a 13-2 blowout by Mainz, which was led by Max Boldt and Thomas DeWolf, who combined for three home runs and ten RBI. Jan-Niclas Stoecklin threw six scoreless innings for the win. Mike Bolsenbroek was charged with eight runs on 13 hits to take the loss.

On Sunday 1,200 were in attendance when the Athletics shut out the Buchbinder Legionaere 5-0. Eric Massingham and Tim Stahlmann kept Regensburg off the board. Peter Johannessen and Trey Stover set the highlights on the offensive side with solo home runs.

Game three and if needed four will be played at the Armin-Wolf-Arena in Regensburg next weekend. Legionaere TV is going to broadcast live.
