German Bundesliga South Plays Full Slate on Thursday

Posted on May 13, 2021May 13, 2021 by MrBB

The German Bundesliga South will play a full slate of games, Week 7 of action, on Thursday, Father’s Day in Germany.

The most intriguing match-up pairs the resurgent host Munich-Haar Disciples and the Mannheim Tornados, with a sweep for either team providing the chance to leapfrog the struggling Stuttgart Reds and take third place in the standings. Both clubs are 6-6, with Mannheim having won four in a row and the Disciples enjoying a five-game win streak of their own. Game One in the series starts at noon (CEST).

Week 7 action started on a damp Wednesday night in Regensburg, with the hosts defeating Stuttgart 9-3. Regensburg scored all the runs it needed in the second inning, with German international Alex Schdmit’s grand slam the highlight of the inning. Regensburg’s starter Jan Tomek was dominant in six innings of work (4H, 1ER, 10K) to collect the victory. Game Two is scheduled to start today at 14:00 (CEST).

It was Stuttgart’s sixth defeat in its last seven games.

Elsewhere in the Bundesliga South, Heidenheim (11-1) host the Tübingen Hawks (3-9) and the Mainz Athletics (5-7) host the ITsure Falcons Ulm (0-12). First pitch in Game One in Heidenheim is at 13:00 (CEST), with the Athletics and Falcons getting started at 13:00 (CEST) as well.
