The Heidenheim Heidekoepfe celebrated a 6-4 win over the Mannheim Tornados on Friday evening in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. After Sascha Lutz broke a 1-1 tie with a RBI double in the second, Johannes Krumm and Terrell Joyce had two-run hits in the fifth to give Heidenheim a 6-1 lead. Ian Vazquez homered in the eighth and initiated a rally for the Tornados, which ended just short. Vazquez scored three runs overall. Luke Sommer and Julius Spann combined to strike out 16 Mannheim batters in the game. Abraham Taveras struck out five in four scoreless innings of one-hit relief.
