The quarterfinals in the German Baseball-Bundesliga are in the books. The Bonn Capitals and three teams from the south have reached the semi-finals, which start on August 20. Bonn completed a three-game sweep against the Stuttgart Reds with a 14-1 rout on Saturday.

The Mainz Athletics and Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg won twice on the road to win their series 3-1. Mainz celebrated 7-1 and 8-2 victories over the Untouchables Paderborn, while Regensburg shut out the Hamburg Stealers 11-0 and 3-0.

Defending champion Heidenheim Heidekoepfe edged out the Solingen Alligators in five games. After Solingen had won game three 11-4 to take a 2-1 lead, Heidenheim won 5-1 and 8-4 in games four and five to come back for a 3-2 series victory.
