Posted on September 23, 2007April 9, 2021 by MrBB

After losing in the finals last year against the Solingen Alligators, south conference champion Regensburg Legionäre is on a mission. They won game one of the series against Mainz Athletics in commanding fashion.

Four of the first five batters of Regensburg reached the plate and they scored in seven innings at least one time. The game was called through mercy rule in the eighth. Alex LAUTERBACH was on base in all four plate appearances. He hit a home run, a triple, was hit by a pitch and singled. He had two RBI’s and scored twice. Simon KUDERNATSCH and Cedric BASSEL (1-2, 2 bb) scored also two runs each.
Martin ALMSTETTER (W 1-0) continued his great postseason. He gave up only five hits, a hit by pitch and two walks in seven scoreless innings. He struck out three. Manuel MOELLER (L 0-1) was hit hard. He pitched six innings and allowed six hits, eight runs (5 ER) and four base on balls.
Today is game two of the best-of-five-series. Matt FLAHERTY will face Keigo MYIAGI.
