French Rumors: New Players for Montpellier, Savigny. Coaching Change in Toulouse

Posted on December 20, 2009December 20, 2009 by philipp

Bafinfos.com reported this week in the side notes of an article about a few transfers, which could go down in the French Elite League.

  • Stade Toulousain: There is the possibility that the manager of the French Junior National Team Gerardo Leroux takes over coaching responsibilities in Toulouse. He led the French Juniors to a third-place finish at the European Championships in Bonn, Germany. He would succeed Jamal Boutagra.
  • Montpellier Barracudas: Speaking of Stade Toulousain. One of their better pitchers, Joris Navarro, is expected to leave the club to join the Montpellier Barracudas. Navarro is also a member of the French National Team.
  • Savigny Lions: The runner up in the 2009 French championship will represent France in next year’s European Cup. They are trying to bring in a bunch of new players. The most known player is probably Gaetan Lepoupon, who is coming from the La Guerche Hawks. They also want Nicholas Waltersperger (Thiais/Brévannes), Karim Boutemeur (Les Gothics de Gif sur Yvette) and Boubakar Guaye (Marlins de Compiègne), which all played in Nationale 1. Christopher Morel and Amin Touahri are expected to stay. Both already played for the Lions on a loan contract.
