Right-handed pitcher Yoan Antonac has signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. The tall hurler from Montpellier began playing baseball at the age of five and moved through all stages of the French baseball development system. He is the ninth French player of the modern era after Rene Leveret (Minnesota Twins), Joris Bert (Los Angeles Dodgers), Frederic Hanvi (Minnesota Twins), Carlos Hereaud (Milwaukee Brewers), Andy Paz (Oakland Athletics), Alexandre Roy (Seattle Mariners), Jose Paula (Oakland Athletics) and Ernesto Martinez (Milwaukee Brewers) to receive a minor league contract with a MLB organization.
