French Finals: Savigny Lions under Pressure before Game 3

Posted on October 22, 2010 by philipp

The Rouen Huskies are two thirds on their way to their seventh national title in French Baseball and their sixth straight. They beat the Savigny Lions 16-4 and 10-5 in games one and two last weekend and now can close out the best-of-five series at home. If the Lions want to avoid the sweep, their pitching has to step up. Savigny actually out-hit Rouen in both matches one week ago. But while their offense simply wasn’t effective enough, their pitching didn’t do its job to keep them in the game. Starters Tim Stewart and Pierrick Lemestre walked seven batters apiece in their outings and the Huskies collected 19 walks and five hit by pitches overall in just 16 innings of play. That was just too much.

You can follow the French Finals via live play by play on the FFBSC.org website.
