The French Division I is opening the 2019 season this coming weekend. While the Rouen Huskies, Montpellier Barracudas, Clermont-Ferrand Arvernes and Valenciennes will be off on the first game day, the other eight teams will be on the field in week one.

The French Division I is going to a 12-team league in 2019, split into two divisions of six teams apiece. Group A includes Clermont-Ferrand, Montpellier, Rouen, Savigny, Toulouse and Valenciennes. The regular season will be played from March 23 to June 15. Afterwards a playoff round follows with the top two advancing to the French Finals, which will be played August 17 to 25. The Rouen Huskies are the defending champions.
