The French Baseball and Softball Federation (FFBS) announced on Wednesday that they have cancelled the 2020 season in all national leagues including the French Division I. The reason is obviously the current Coronavirus pandemic and its influences on life around the world. France is one of the countries where the virus has spread heavily and therefore the government established strong restrictions in terms of social distancing. The FFBS is hoping at least to get back to the fields with certain health guidelines, which are possible during practice but not during games. A date for the return to practice has not been established.
