French Cup Finals: Rouen decide game against Sénart in dramatic fashion

Posted on October 15, 2007 by philipp

After winning the championship in France this summer, the Rouen Huskies also won the French cup finals. They defeated Sénart Templiers 8-7 in a classic ballgame on Sunday.

Sénart had the better start and led 4-2 after five innings. But the Huskies scored five runs in the sixth to take a 7-4 lead. Nicolas DUBAUT got the big hit with a two-run-double. The Templiers rallied in the last two frames and tie the game 7-7 with two outs in the ninth. Rouen had one answer left. They loaded the bases in the bottom the period and David GAUTHIER struck a walk off RBI-single into center field.

Alexandre SOCHON pitched six innings for Rouen. He was relieved by Keino PEREZ who blew the lead and got the win at the end. Mathieu BRELLE started for Sénart and received the loss.
