26-year-old French outfielder Frederic Hanvi has succeeded with his tryout in the CanAm League. He signed a contract with the Aigles de Trois-Rivieres of the independent league and will make his 2015 debut on May 26 against the New Jersey Jackals.
Out of Montigny Hanvi signed with the Minnesota Twins organization in 2008 and played three seasons in the Gulf Coast League. Between stints with the Templiers Senart in the French Division I after his release he played the 2012 season with the Gunma Diamond Pegasus in Japan. Last season he joined the Fighting Dogs Kochi in the Shikoku Island League in Japan.
Now Hanvi becomes the fifth French national team player to suit up in the CanAm League after Rene Leveret, Anthony Cros, Maxime Lefevre and Felix Brown. He is going to be the third European player in the league this year besides Leveret and Dutch national teamer Kalian Sams.
